The Pop Warner Palmetto Falcons have been successful for the fourth year. This league is based at Trenholm Park as a practice site. It is an independent non-profit football/cheer organization.

In the 2004 season, the Mitey Mite Division (7–9 year olds) were runners–up. The Pee Wee Division (9–12) won the state championship, and the Junior Midgets (10–13) were runners–up. The Mitey Mites and the Pee Wee Divisions went undefeated the entire season, and the Junior Midgets had a 7–2 season.

This league attends bowl games every year, McAdenville, NC in 2002; Gastonia, NC in 2003, and Harrisburg, NC in 2004 receiving runners up in each of them.

The league also consists of a cheerleading division which won first place in the State Cheer Competition in 2003 and the State Exhibition in 2004. The cheerleaders also received academic recognition for a 3.0 grade point average or better. The cheerleading coaches are Darlene Brown and Candace Blackmon both of whom are certified and qualified to produce winners on and off the sidelines.

The Pee Wee Division has been sponsored by the The Columbia Star for the past three years. The president of the league is Fristella Cornelius and the head coach is Willie Cornelius. A special thanks to D’s Wings, Gore and Associates, Icy’s, The Columbia Star, Pearle Vision Express Two Notch and Parklane, Dr. Ayers, Centre Realty, Bernies on Bluff Road, and all the parents and grandparents.
