Palmetto Architects, Contractors &Engineers Awards awarded Holy Spirit Catholic Church a Merit Award for Institutional Design. This award honors the team relationship during and after a project. The team was Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Father Parker and David Johnson (client), The Boudreaux Group (architecture and interiors), Gulf Stream Construction (contractor), Forsberg Engineering Associates & Surveying, Inc (civil), Johnson & King (structural), Belka Engineering Associates (electrical), Swygert Associates (mechanical), Egan Acoustics (acoustics), and John Kedzierski (sound).

The Columbia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects awarded the 2004 Public Supporters of Design Excellence Citation Award to Fred M. Delk of the Columbia Development Corporation.

Michael S. McMurphy, AIA and Jessica S. Koumas, IIDA of The Boudreaux Group have completed all necessary requirements to become LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professionals. Aaron B. Compton, AIA, has joined the group as manager/project architect. Thomas M. Rhodes has joined the group as an architectural intern.

The SC Manufacturing Extention Partnership won a Marcom Creative Award for its 2003 Annual Impact Report.

The Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia Charitable Foundation, Inc. has contributed $27,900 to local and state charities and students during 2004. Bob Pulliam of Pulliam Motor Company was chosen as one of nine dealer principals across the country to receive the prestigious award—Salute To Dealers.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department hired Don Murphy to coordinate homeland security for the county. The Homeland Security Coordinator will be a liaison with state, local and federal law enforcement agencies.
