  • Laura Story, a local Columbia International University alumna, (BC ’03) wrote the lyrics and music to the highly acclaimed hit Christian song, Indescribable, sung by top Christian artist Chris Tomlin.
  • Billboard , (the record industry’s main magazine) has been charting the songs rise in popularity.

Billboard ranks its songs by how often radio stations around the nation give a song airtime, and Indescribable has been in the top 20 position on the Hot Christian Singles and Tracks list for 16 weeks.

This week Indescribable rose to number four in the Billboard charts.

Story toured as a member of the band Silers Bald playing piano, electric and upright bass, and performing some lead and background vocals. She shared songwriting duties and penned many works including the song Grace .

Story parted from Silers Bald in 2001 and attended Columbia International University to study the Bible and music. It was during this time that Story began to obtain Biblical training for her ministry. For several months, she led worship at the school’s chapel and at various churches and retreats.

In the spring of 2002, she joined recording artist Andrew Peterson on his tour. Before returning to school in the fall of 2002, Story recorded her debut solo album in Nashville under producer Stephen Gause. This project highlights Story’s talent as a songwriter and musician.
