Richland Mall unveils changes Thanksgiving weekend
As the newly appointed CEO of The Department Store and The Department Store Mall Shops, Bob Emory is again re–inventing retail. Realizing that most all regional malls look alike and have the same mix of retailers, something different had to be introduced at Richland Mall if it was to survive and thrive. Recently at a press conference, Emory announced the names of over 20 unique stores new to Columbia and new to retail. They are scheduled to open Thanksgiving weekend along with The Department Store, a new department store venue selling high end lines such as Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Ferré, Armani, EXTE, Cavalli, Diesel, LaPerla lingerie and many other brand names all at great values. “This is not a discount store,” remarked Emory. “It is a store where consumers can get the highest quality merchandise at tremendous discounts. He added, “This will be a Nordstrom store look and feel with T.J. Maxx prices.”
Santa will host the grand gala event, Wake up the Magic, kicking off the holiday season and celebrating the grand opening of Richland Mall’s newest retailers. The public is invited to attend.
Creating over a 150 jobs, the newest retailers at Richland Mall have been overwhelmed with the positive response from the community. Employment seekers, mall merchants, and customers alike are excited about the store additions. Construction is well underway with over half of the mall’s interior painting completed, store fronts being built, and retailers beginning to receive merchandise. The mall transformation has begun!
Nationwide expertise is contributing to the transformation of Richland Mall. Taylor Donnelly, a former manager and designer of Christopher Radko Store, is flying in to oversee the design and display of the new Christopher Radko Store, along with another exciting quality Christmas store, Enchanted Forest. West Hollywood’s Henry Dana is advising with the redevelopment and purchase of inventory. Also being announced will be the first Anna Nicole Smith Store in the country.
Each of the new Department Store Mall shops retailers will be a member of the Richland Mall Cares program. All existing retailers have been invited to participate as well. Beginning Thanksgiving weekend, shoppers can choose a non-profit entity to benefit from their purchases which will provide a 10 % rebate, donated to the charity. A contribution will be made to their chosen organization when they shop Richland Mall Cares participating retailers. For more information , please contact Michelle Baker at (803) 782-7575.
