Miss Williams and Mr. Williams marry at Shandon United Methodist Church

Mrs. Charles Oliver Williams III Mary McQueen Wil-liams and Charles Oliver Williams III were married at Shandon United Methodist Church October 23, 2004 at 7 pm. The Reverend Doctor Michael L. Guffee performed the double–ring ceremony. Music was provided by organist Nancy Kelley, piper Steve Cotsford, and harpist Timothy Putnam.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. Stella Sitton Parrish and Mr. Charles Wayne Williams. Her maternal grandparents are Mrs. Benson Clayton Parrish and the late Honorable Parrish. Her paternal grandparents are the late Mrs. Jack M. Rogers and the late Joseph Charles Williams. The bride graduated from Spring Valley High School and earned a bachelor of science in Spanish and psychology from Wofford College. She also earned a masters degree from SCSU in speech, language and audiology. She is a pathologist at Palmetto Health Richland’s Medically Fragile Children’s program.

The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Charles Oliver Williams Jr. His maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Cleveland McIntosh. His paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Oliver Williams Sr. The bridegroom graduated from Richard Winn Academy, Winnsboro, SC. The bridegroom earned a bachelor of arts degree in English literature from Washington and Lee University. He also earned a juris doctorate from the USC School of Law. He is an associate with the firm of McAngus, Goudelock, and Courie, LLC.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. She wore a white sleeveless gown of Ottoman silk file featuring a sweetheart neckline, fitted bodice, and tucked cummerbund at the waist. Covered buttons accented the bell–shaped skirt in the back continuing the full length of the train. Accentuated by full length white gloves, her princess-length veil of illusion featured piping of white satin and extended in soft folds into a chapel train. She carried an antique monogrammed handkerchief given to her by her grandmother in a bouquet of white roses, stephanotis, and ivy.

The matron of honor was Ashley Watson Kilmartin. The bridesmaids were Kelly Walker Noland; Katherine Nauss Templeton; Elizabeth Nauss Graf; Angie Dawn Ward, Alicia Butler Hall; Lee McDowell Parrish, cousin of the bride; and Cristin McIntosh Williams, sister of the bridegroom. The honorary bridesmaids were Dora Ann Eleanor Kitchin, Leah Robertson Maybry, Sally McIntyre Malambri, and Robyn Elizabeth Wham. The flower girl was Emma Hall Templeton, goddaughter of the bride. The ring bearer was Porter Wesley Burkett.

The best man was Dr. Charles Oliver Williams Jr., father of the bridegroom. The groomsmen were Charles Wayne Williams Jr., brother of the bride; John Edgar Kleckley; Benjamin Gambill Fuller; Clay Oms Thomas; Stephen Randall Johnson, Amos Davis McCloud; and Brett Anthony Owens.

The reception was held at Spring Valley Country Club.

After a honeymoon in Ocho Rios, Jamacia, the couple will reside in Columbia.
