Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church , will be selling pumpkins galore October 23 and 30 from 10am–dusk. Proceeds from the Pumpkin Patch will support missions. 771-4540

Everyone is invited to join Stedfast Christian Center community fellowship lunch on October 23 from 12–2 pm. Stedfast Christian Center is located at 5200 Fairfield Road. Columbia Adventist Academy, WBAG Radio, and area Adventist churches are holding a free Christian concert and health expo at Finlay Park, November 6, 3–5 pm.


The River Alliance, Security Federal Bank, the City of West Columbia, and High Voltage Theatre present the second annual production of Sleepy Hollow on the River. The story will be at the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheatre, at 8 pm every Thursday through the end of October with a final performance on Halloween night. 765-2252


The Friends of Richland County Public Library will hold a book sale from 9 am–3 pm October 23 at the RCPL Operations Center, 130 Lancewood Road. A preview sale for Friends’ members will be 6:30 pm–8:30 pm October 22. 929-3475

Friends of Congaree Swamp will hold its annual meeting October 24 at Millaree Hunt Club in Lower Richland County from 2 pm until sunset. A barbeque dinner will be served and vegetarian meals will be available. 413-0460.

Congaree Swamp National Monument formally will be re–designated Congaree National Park by Senator Ernest Hollings, Congressman James Clyburn, and National Park Service director Fran Mainella during a dedication ceremony October 25. The designation distinguishes Congaree as the first unit of the National Park System in SC to carry the National Park title. 776-4396
