The fall meeting of the Governor Joseph West Chapter, Daughters of the American Colonists, was held September 28, 2004, at the SC State Museum, with 13 members and guests in attendance. The Regent, Mrs. Sarah Perkins, conducted the business of the meeting and turned the program over to the speaker, Dr. Fritz Hamer, curator of history for the SC State Museum.

Dr. Hamer spoke to the group on the subject of Indian trade from the settlement of the colonies up until the Revolution.

The anniversary luncheon for this chapter will be December 7, 2004, place to be announced. The annual Assembly in February 2005, will be the 75th anniversary for the Daughters of the American Colonists and the National Regent, Mrs. Jackie Barnes, will be in attendance.
