S.C. Silver Society polishes up for 2012

The South Carolina Silver Society began its 16th year with an annual banquet at the Summit Club February 4, 2012. The Society exists to promote the knowledge and appreciation of silver. Members meet three times each year in various locations throughout the state.

Reola Nelson Bledsoe, 89, of Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away February 1, 2012. Reola was born in Blythewood, South Carolina and moved to Florida from Columbia in 1971. For 16 years she was an inspector for Pepsi.

St. John’s Episcopal Church celebrates 100 years

St. John’s Episcopal Church is 100 years old this year and has many plans during the next year for both the church and the community. The church kicked off its centennial year with a parish wide breakfast and the unveiling of the year ahead.

Lutheran seminary celebrates Muhlenberg legacy

Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary will celebrate the legacy of Henry Melchior Muhlenberg ( 1711- 1787), the patriarch of Lutheranism in North America, through a free public exhibit at the seminary’s Lineberger Memorial Library from February 13 to March 4, 2012.
