Charleston’s harbor deepening project update

Charleston’s harbor deepening project got another boost on Wednesday, February 8, with the release of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Work Plan for the remainder of the fiscal year 2012. The Corps included $2.5 million for the continued work on the Charleston Harbor post- 45- foot deepening project.

Next week in the Business Section there will be some numbers crunching to determine the real costs of both the Drew Wellness Center and the convention center on Lincoln Street. Both were conceived and built as money losers dedicated to the public good. Columbia needed a convention center in the Vista and a wellness center along the upper reaches of Harden Street.
